During Pregnancy and after giving birth, your body goes through many different changes. Weight gain and hormonal changes can all change the shape and size of our breasts.
As our breasts generally increase in size during pregnancy and after, it is vital that you wear a correctly fitting bra. This will certainly help with your comfort but will also help to ensure you are not damaging your breasts, avoiding breast sagging and issues with milk supply.
As our breast size changes during pregnancy, it may be that you will need to buy several different bras as your body shape changes.
Many women find that wearing a soft cup bra during pregnancy is more comfortable than an under wired bra. All women are different and changes in the size of breasts and how quickly they change reflect this. There is no general rule as to how much your breasts will increase during pregnancy but be sure to go with what feels comfortable for you.
The shoulder straps on the bra should be well padded, so that they do not dig into your skin. During the final weeks of pregnancy, it may be more comfortable to wear a nursing bra and when baby is born, choose a nursing bra that can be opened with one hand and allows your baby to touch your skin.
